My name is Simon Mahan and I’m emailing because you signed a petition asking that Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) rescind its new tax on solar power, and said you’d like to be kept updated. Thank you!!! (If you’d no longer like any emails, just let me know and I’ll take you off the list.)
As you’ve surely heard, the new solar tax would greatly increase costs for solar families, and effectively makes new residential rooftop solar economically infeasible in Lafayette. Studies show that rooftop solar provides valuable benefits to the local grid and community above and beyond the costs.
Please consider forwarding this email, and sharing the following on Facebook.
A new solar tax was recently implemented for Lafayette Utilities System customers. If you have solar panels on your roof, your bills are likely to increase over $200 per year. If you want new solar panels, the new tax and the state’s eliminated tax credits likely means they’ll never pay for themselves.
